This comprehensive 45-hour online course is tailored for individuals aiming to become certified Chiropractic Assistants in Alabama. It offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for supporting chiropractic care. The curriculum encompasses chiropractic philosophy, patient care techniques, emergency procedures, legal and ethical considerations, and state-specific regulations. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate from a CCE-approved Chiropractic College.
The course comprises the following modules: Introduction: Chiropractic philosophy, spinal anatomy, subluxation complex, and spinal pain. CA Duties: Responsibilities of the Chiropractic Assistant, medical records, patient communications, SOAP notes, and confidentiality. Emergency Procedures: Chiropractic office emergencies, red flags to care, bloodborne pathogens, recognition of emergency situations, performing primary and secondary surveys. Communications: Patient communication skills, CA-patient relationships, office etiquette, letters, and report construction. Technical Skills: Obtaining patient history, vital signs, record-keeping skills, consents to transfer records. Law and Ethics: Confidentiality, respondent superior, sources of malpractice, professional boundaries, prevention of sexual harassment, and developing professional relationships. Human Body in Health and Disease: Common diseases and disorders encountered in chiropractic practice. Physiotherapy: Physiology of wound repair, applications, indications and contraindications of heat, diathermy, electrotherapy, cryotherapy, traction, and construction of exercise programs. Alabama Rules and Regulations: State-specific laws and regulations governing chiropractic practice.
