Established in 2006, the OTD program at TUN was the first of its kind in Nevada, designed to address the growing need for occupational therapists. The program emphasizes occupation-based practice, evidence-based practice, and leadership. Students engage in active learning experiences to become competent, ethical, and collaborative occupational therapists.
The OTD program offers a comprehensive education in occupational, behavioral, and basic sciences. The curriculum includes: Touro University Nevada +1 Touro University Nevada +1 First Semester Courses: Fundamentals and Foundations of Occupational Therapy Research I: Introduction to Quantitative and Qualitative Research Clinical Reasoning about Occupation Introduction to Fieldwork and Capstone Human Structure and Occupation Touro University Nevada Fieldwork Education: Level I Fieldwork: 16-hour clinical rotation to bridge didactic learning with clinical practice Level II Fieldwork: Extensive hands-on clinical experiences Touro University Nevada Doctoral Capstone Experience: 14-week immersive experience in a concentrated area of interest Development and implementation of an individual capstone project
