The Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition (DCN) at UNF is an advanced practice doctoral program emphasizing leadership, advanced clinical practice, and research. Unlike a PhD, which focuses on bench research, the DCN centers on applied scholarship and evidence-based outcomes in practice settings. The program prepares registered dietitians with at least three years of experience for leadership roles in clinical, community, or higher education settings through coursework, an advanced practice residency, and a dissertation project.
