The Johns Hopkins Dietetic Internship is a 41-week full-time program with a medical nutrition therapy emphasis. It provides experiences that meet competencies and offer training for entry-level dietetic practice. The program is designed to fulfill the educational and supervised experience requirements to sit for the Commission on Dietetics Registration Exam for Dietitians. Home Interns are required to complete at least 1,200 hours of supervised practice experience, as defined by the standards of the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
The program encompasses a comprehensive curriculum with a clinical emphasis, including: Orientation Food Service Rotations: Call Center and Patient Services Retail and Catering Production and Purchasing Community Rotations: Dialysis Moveable Feast Program for the All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Weekly Classes: Conducted by clinical dietitians, managers, and allied health professionals Topics include critical care, disordered eating, communications, military nutrition, research, and geriatrics Home
