The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program at UBC is a professional master's degree spanning 24 months. It is the only occupational therapy degree program in British Columbia and does not require a thesis. The curriculum is based on a combination of coursework and fieldwork placements. The program is fully accredited by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, and graduates are eligible to write the national licensing exam upon graduation.
The curriculum combines coursework and fieldwork placements. Over the course of two years, students complete five fieldwork placements, each lasting 5–7 weeks. The program is modular-based and involves over 50 clinicians annually to teach students the necessary skills and theory for practice.
