Description

This fully online, accelerated program is designed for Columbia MS in Occupational Therapy students aiming to earn a Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree. The program focuses on advancing the knowledge and skills of occupational therapists, enabling them to become agents of change through the development of evidence-informed and theory-guided knowledge translation. Students will engage in building capacity programs that serve patients, families, communities, OT students, or members of interprofessional healthcare teams in specific areas of occupational therapy practice.

Course Curriculum

The program requires the completion of a minimum of 36 points beyond the Master`s degree in Occupational Therapy. Key components include:​ Vagelos College of Physicians +1 Vagelos College of Physicians +1 Core I: Master basic knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy. Core II: Challenge and explore existing knowledge, paradigms, and hypotheses in cognition and perception. Core III: Transform critical thinking, create, and implement advanced knowledge and applications in cognition and perception. Core IV: Develop as an advanced practitioner and agent of change in clinical practice.
