ACC’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program is designed to prepare students to assist patients with physical, mental, or developmental challenges. Through a blend of online and in-person instruction, students gain the skills necessary to support patients in improving fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and social skills. The program emphasizes real-world experience, providing over 700 hours of fieldwork to ensure graduates are ready for entry-level positions in various healthcare environments.
The program encompasses 98 quarter credits over 1,780 clock hours, covering: American Career College Occupational Therapy Fundamentals: Implementing treatment care plans, training and educating clients and their caregivers, collaborating with clients in designing therapeutic activities. Patient Care Techniques: Measuring and recording patient heart rates, assisting with daily living activities. Documentation Skills: Recording patient progress, reporting to occupational therapists, and carrying out administrative tasks. Fieldwork Experience: Over 700 hours of hands-on clinical training in various healthcare settings
